BOUNDLESS SELF PORTRAIT
Petra Börner was invited to contribute a self portrait to new editorial platform &wherefore.
"Making art stops me from thinking about limitations and instead transports me into the realm of possibilities. With this ‘auto-collage’ I wanted to capture the impatience and excitement that I experience towards making art…"
This first collection was inspired by contemporary artist Grayson Perry, who believes that identities are never fixed. Each artist was invited to create their own visual interpretation of themselves. Artists involved include Alice Bowsher, Assa Ariyoshi, Daniel Clarke, James Dawe, Jay Cover, Lucy Jones, Marcus Oakley, Matthew the Horse, Owen Gildersleeve, Petra Börner, Saskia Pomeroy, Supermundane, Thomas Hedger and Yukai Du.

THE CAT IN THE TREBLE CLEF

Petra Börner have created the cover art for the first Swedish edition of Transit, by Rachel Cusk. Originally cut in layers of paper, the Sea artwork feature in various palettes on all instalments of the Cusk trilogy; here in fiery tones. The moving storyline settles briefly in London halfway through the ground breaking novels.
The Complete Folio Anthologies illustrated by Petra Börner are now available as a set through independent publisher The Folio Society.

SUMMER: A FOLIO ANTHOLOGY
Summer is the fourth and final instalment in the series of seasonal Anthologies illustrated by Petra Börner and published by The Folio Society. Responding to words edited by Sue Bradbury, illustrated themes of summer accompany the enchanting selection of prose and poetry.
Warm tones of yellow contrasted by shades of black and greys link the artwork and spot illustrations throughout the collection. A stoic sunflower crowns the cover, a nostalgic celebration of long summer days.
All the artwork were created by hand in Petra's bold signature cut paper style.
Petra Börner was commissioned by Åhléns to create two illustrations exclusively for the Swedish Department Store. The motifs; Kling and Oracle, now feature throughout the homeware collection and have been interpreted into a wide range for kitchen and living-room.
The bold, energetic feel of the patterns celebrates natural life and their elegant palette speak with a 70's tone and warmth- a warm welcome.
The range includes printed kitchen towels, bedding and curtains and, embossed ceramic vases and woven cushions, throws and a rug.
