pb_wherefore_bondless_1a.jpg

BOUNDLESS SELF PORTRAIT

Petra Börner was invited to contribute a self portrait to new editorial platform &wherefore.

"Making art stops me from thinking about limitations and instead transports me into the realm of possibilities. With this ‘auto-collage’ I wanted to capture the impatience and excitement that I experience towards making art…"

This first collection was inspired by contemporary artist Grayson Perry, who believes that identities are never fixed. Each artist was invited to create their own visual interpretation of themselves. Artists involved include Alice Bowsher, Assa Ariyoshi, Daniel Clarke, James Dawe, Jay Cover, Lucy Jones, Marcus Oakley, Matthew the Horse, Owen Gildersleeve, Petra Börner, Saskia Pomeroy, Supermundane, Thomas Hedger and Yukai Du.
