Giclee print is a type of high quality print that is made by a digital process, using an inkjet printer with expanded-gamut. This process lends itself perfectly to the translation of Petra Börner’s signature style artwork, as it captures the lush texture and detail of the original cut paper artwork. It also translates painted and drawn lines beautifully and is an ideal method for fine art editions and making unique artwork available at more affordable rates.

All artworks are printed onto the finest digital, Museum grade Fine Art paper - An acid-free, 100% cotton quality by Hahnemühle.

Our printing studio is a member of the Fine Art Trade Guild as well as a Hahnemühle Certified Studio. They have to pass regular tests including reviews on the studio environment and their handling of the prints. They are tested on their use of lightfast inks and achieving set targets for colour consistency as well as profiling of the papers used for accurate colour representation.

Our printers work with a type of Epson ink, which is among the best within the industry, to ensure the highest lightfastness possible at present.

To ensure longevity of your print, it’s key to handle it right. The first case is to make sure it’s framed correctly and to desired conservation standard. That is to use conservation materials for the mount and backing. Keeping the prints out of direct sunlight will also help to achieve lightfastness.

Each print is individually quality checked before despatch. They are wrapped securely for postage in acid-free tissue paper and handled by cotton gloves at all times. Either they are sent flat in-between two sheets of MDF or rolled in a strong tube to ensure they arrive in pristine condition.

If your print arrives in a roll, please unpack it carefully and let it unfold on a clean surface. Ideally handle the print with white gloves, never touch the printed surface and have it framed as soon as possible.

All prints have a blank border left around the printed area, to allow for an elegant mount and ease the framing process. All prints are signed by the artist, below the printed area to the left. If the print is available in a Limited Edition, the number will be placed in the bottom right hand corner.

All prints are sold unframed, but most of our sizes available are standard and frames can easily be picked up off the shelf. Motifs are usually available in a selection of sizes. Please make sure you select the correct size and price you were looking for. Also note that the price is the lowest for the Open Editions and highest for Limited Editions of 10.
