Petra Börner was commissioned by Kew Gardens to create an artwork celebrating the new Autumn season. Spell is inspired by the powerful energies at work in nature at the end of summer when new forces take charge and bring us its exuberant colour display. The artwork was originally cut in layers of paper and maintaining the textures and depth of the artwork it was translated into a print in a limited edition.
Spell feature as a limited edition print celebrating the Autumn season at Kew Gardens. Inspired by ferns, one of the oldest plants ever recorded. Ferns have poetic and spiritual significance, it's said to uncoil magical properties and to cast spells. Covering the ground, hiding or sheltering the elements below, its movements in the Autumn breeze, a slow dance accompanying the sound of the trees.
